At last I can watch the whole series at times of my choosing. I am too old to be 'woke' and find little of interest in much current 'entertainment'. Much of the humour in this series will be lost on people under the age of about 60 as the cultural references are historic. Considering that the original recordings will have been on comparatively low res screens I am delighted at how well they appear on today's vast hi res devices.At last I can watch the whole series at times of my choosing. Family friendly, gentle fun.
Family friendly old fashioned comedy, something that you can put on around children and the jokes for the adults just go over the kids heads. Set during WW2, this comedy gently pokes fun at every nationality, and can be a good way to reach kids about the war and everyone’s part in it.
