Very poor quality. The auto threader doesn't work. The thread spindle is flimsy plastic and liable to snap off with the least exertion. The lid on the bobbin case is thin flimsy clear plastic and very 'lose-able'. The bobbin dislodges in its casing. Insufficient range of stitch lengths. Most disappointed. An experience machinist would not get on with this, and a beginner would have a frustrating time and likely give up. They say you get what you pay for - best spend a little more and be sure to give ample trial run to get something worth buying.

Not a good experience. The machine worked alright when I turned it over by hand to thread it but when I switched it on the motor ran but the needle would not move as the drive belt was not attached. I decided it would be quicker and probably easier to refit it myself than to return it to Currys so I removed the bottom and rear covers and re-attached the belt. It's alright now but shouldn't have been necessary. When I came to use the auto threader it didn't work. This was because when the threader was brought down it came to rest about a millimetre away from the back of the needle. This meant that the hook didn't go through the needle far enough to pick up the thread. I was able to fix this by removing the end cover (1screw) then slackening the two screws top and bottom of the silver guide plate and moving it slightly to the left until the hook assembly came to rest against the back of the needle, then tightened the screws and replaced the cover. Quite a lot of hassle for a damaged box! Read full review

I was given one as a present by my children to replace other makes I had. Its usually used for straight stitching new garments, bedding and repairs. The bobbin sits visible and different to other machines and amazingly still works! No bobbin holder or machine arm to remove etc Winding the bobbin is easy and tight. Btw Use strong polyester thread which doesnt break. Reinstates confidence in sewing! My grandmothers had metal singer machines fixed in in the wooden base and hand spun. Things have changed! Its lighter but still sturdy and strong. Wouldnt be able to walk down the road with it but around the home or in and out the car is fine. Threads easy not to keen on the auto threader though. Sometimes thread feels like it got stuck while upper threading but just remove and rethread. Liked it so much got one as a present for someone else! I see myself using this for all my small sewing projects. Read full review

I’m a novice at sewing but this lovely little machine gives me the confidence to do more. I love the needle threader - when your eyesight is not great it’s a fab help. It’s lightweight and only downside is the bobbin & cover need to be secured before moving it, and nowhere to store foot pedal. It needs a proper Case ! Lovely straight sewing. It won’t take very heavyweight materials, but will do 2 layers of denim. Overall I love it !
