The only licensed game of the UEFA European Soccer Championship, UEFA Euro 2008 follows the 16-team tournament held in Austria and Switzerland throughout the month of June. As in the real-life competition, 16 qualifying teams are equally divided among four groups. New for 2008 is a knockout stage that separates groups A and B from groups C and D until the finals. In the quarterfinals, the winner of each group will compete against the runner-up from the second group. Match winners then advance to the semifinals to determine which two teams vie for the championship.<br><br>UEFA Euro 2008 uses EA Canada's FIFA engine for its 3D presentation. Included are more than 50 European national teams, with realistically modeled players and stadiums. Notable play modes include "Captain Your Country" and "Battle of Nations." The former involves trying to lead a country to victory by calling the shots on the pitch. The latter is an online mode that has players across the globe competing against one another. Other features include field conditions affected by rain, user-controlled celebrations, real-time ratings based on an athlete's in-game performance, and an atmosphere-heightened penalty kick mode.

Best EA Sports Soccer game to Date
This is by far the best soccer game EA sports has ever released. The graphics are top notch, and they have finally nailed the gameplay that had some nagging issues in FIFA 08. For starters, they sped up the game considerably. This gives players much more control over their player and what they can do with the ball. You rarely get caught in frustrating situations where you want to pass but the player wont respond quick enough, something that was prevelant in FIFA 08. They also have included a fun new mode that was first seen back in fifa. Its called Captain your Country. Its basically Be a Pro from fifa, which is a lot like maddens superstar mode. You play through the entire EURO 2008 tournament. Thats where the options end, however. The only play options are quick play, be a pro, captain ... great game for all
The game is always getting better. I am a huge soccer fan and playing international soccer games is what people need to play. This game is great and is fun to play and play as favorite internation team best. game some what easy on first couple level but want challenge go to the hardest. Why i bought it is b/c I love international soccer especially when cup was in play.

I've always been a fan of winning eleven series. I'm a owner of winning six through 12. this will be the first winning I have with xbox 360. game play and graphic is amazing on this game. this is considered the best soccer game in the world. i've also purchased the fifa series also, but the gameplay is much better.
