    Why spend more

    If you don't need a lot of space and just using it for a replacement this will be fine and is a good brand name. It looked new though its oem, and you have to wait some time for shipping since its from Hong Kong.

    Smooth upgrade of laptop with WDC1600BEVT

    I upgraded my older Dell Latitude with faster, higher capacity Western Digital 2.5" SATA II 160GB hard drive. I was just about out of hard drive space on my laptop. I was able to put this used WDC hard drive in my Latitude HD caddy and insert in laptop. I bought new Windows 7 software and now I can add additional software without worry about no hard drive space. The drive works great, I quiet and is faster than what I had. You can rest assured that Western Digital hard drive will work for you year after year. I have had the hard drive about 2 months now, no errors. I didn't need SATA II interface, but this drive had it and no problems.
