  • A classic text in psychosis, and justifiably so

    Being interested in psychotherapy and mental health I took my opportunity to pick up this classic cheaply. Some say that this, the author's first and most celebrated work is a relatively easy read - but I had to read the early chapters slowly and carefully to feel that I understood them. - but it was worth the effort.(Perhaps I'm getting old ). To understand psychosis surely, is to better understand the human condition - and is that a simple undertaking ? - of course not. The case histories towards the end came as something of a relief - the flesh on the theoretical bones. Surely, the first step in helping a psychotic person is to begin to understand them. Lets remember that the author had considerable clinical experience before he wrote this. So if you want to study psychosis read this, ...
