Only pain killing gadget I've used that actually works!
Although I had to return this particular one because it was faulty, I did buy another one and I'm amazed at how good it actually is. I've had lower back pain for decades and am on the strongest pain killer medication patches available, but still get flare-ups. Nothing works, TENS machines, massage machines, you name it, but lying on this for 20 minutes eased my back pain so much that I could hardly feel it. For the results I got it's an absolute bargain. With the 3 heat settings you can use it just to keep warm on the colder nights or for the full treatment. Totally safe, it's even machine washable and has an auto cut off after 90 minutes so no worries about falling asleep while using it. Only slight complaint is that it's quite small, but at 100w it's not even expensive to run. Very ... Beurer are a German brand and these are made in Europe so find risk saving a couple of quid on some cheap Chinese brand, these are not expensive and worth every penny for the relief they give you.

Whilst this product is a good price and quality. However, It falls short on temperature, even on turbo setting it remains warm as opposed to hot.

Like a comfort blanket but smaller
I am glad I bought it, but also glad I did not pay the full price. In agreement with some other reviews I was initially disappointed that only the middle of the heat pad heats up, leaving the edges barely warm. However, despite this it is a LOVELY item to have ownership of on a chilly evening.

A brilliant buy for anyone suffering with pain.
My Mum was suffering with sciatica, sitting on this really helped to ease the pain. It has 3 heat settings, and also a90 minute auto/safety cutout which is brilliant as would be easy for Mum to leave it switched by accident.

Heat on the short-term
The product is perfectly fine. Does everything it's supposed to do. I do wish there was a way to disable the safety feature that turns hot pads off. I bought it to use for a feral cat that sleeps in the garage but the safety feature means I can't use it overnight.
