      Hostage to the Devil: The Possession and Exorcism of Five Contemporary Americans, By Malachi Martin. These five true case studies fully describe the subtle processes of possession, and exorcism. The book should be considered a text book on the subject. This was Dr. Martin's first work. The late Malachi Martin, an expert on the Dead Sea Scrolls, also wrote about exorcism, Church history and modern geopolitics. He also accused the Vatican of being infiltrated by satanists. From 1958 until 1964, Malachi Martin served in Rome as a Jesuit priest, where he was a close associate of, and carried out many sensitive missions for, Jesuit Cardinal Augustin Bea and Popes John XXIII and Paul VI. When he was released from his vows of poverty and obedience,(at his own request) he moved to New York, ...

      Good books great prices.

      The book is in really good preowned condition. Clean, no writing or highlighting inside. The dust cover is not faded at all, really good looking for a book released in the 1970s.

      Don't read this book at night.

      All the other internet reviews shed good light on this book. Martin gives an insightful and rare account of exorcism in the Catholic church, and tells the stories of five individuals who have suffered the process in contemporary America. The stories are written in a manner which helps the realism. It seems less like fiction and more like fact-based accounts. If you are interested in, or even on the fence about, faith/possession then I would recommend this read...just not at night.

      Hostage To The Devil

      This book accurately describes the process of possession and the Roman Catholic exorcism rites. It is fascinating reading and helped my spirituality by helping me understand the essence of evil and the evil one.
