Being a first year Computer Science student, I decided to buy this book to help with getting my head around Discrete Maths which is prevalent on my course. The exercises in the second edition of this book aren't quite as good as the ones in the third edition, which is my only complaint, but this doesn't really matter because the wealth of information and examples that this book provides is great. I haven't had a chance to read through the whole book yet, but the sections I have read/looked at (Set Theory, Counting and Probability, and Graph Theory) have been very helpful. Also, in the first and last pages of the book are useful notation for each of the sections of the book, which would also be helpful if, for example, you wanted to find the formula for something but didn't want to go through the whole book looking for it. All in all, a great, informative book. :-)Read full review
Lecturers were babbling nonsense so I got this to self-teach the lecture material. I have to say, this book was far more useful than the confusing lectures! Made it infinitely easier to understand the concepts.
