I didn't see it but it does say this works on conductive materials. My mistake. This will only work on metal materials as it is basically a circuit tester. When the ball contacts the work it earths( grounds) through the machine to sound the buzzer and illuminate the light. I wouldn't be too bothered about it but if I were to be machining some form of plastic it of course would not work.
