Apr s Au Coeur des T n bres et Apocalypse Now, voici la derni re incarnation du voyage de Marlowe inspir e par le pamphlet de Joseph Conrad contre les horreurs de la colonisation. -- 1857: Naissance de Joseph Conrad (J zef Teodor Konrad Korzeniowski) Berdichev en Ukraine (auparavant partie de la Pologne). -- 1874: Conrad quitte sa Pologne natale l'adolescence pour viter la conscription dans l'arm e russe. Il part pour Marseille, o il s'engage comme apprenti sur un voilier. Il rejoint la marine marchande fran aise et comme Arthur Rimbaud s'improvise trafiquant d'armes. Il s'embarque ensuite bord de navires britanniques, fait apprentissage de l'anglais avec ses camarades marins. Il devient Capitaine, et sert plus de seize ans avant qu'un v nement ne l'incite passer l' criture. -- 1890: Il d croche un poste de capitaine sur un steamer pour la Soci t du Haut-Congo officiant dans l' tat ind pendant du Congo. Il ne fait qu'un seul aller-retour sur le Congo avant d' tre rapatri en Europe pour dysenterie. -- 1894: Retour Londres o il d barque, pour la derni re fois, sa carri re maritime est termin e. -- 1899: Conrad publie Au Coeur des T n bres, un pamphlet cr pusculaire sur le cauchemar de la colonisation au Congo. Conrad a t reconnu comme le romancier le plus puissant, perspicace, et inqui tant de son poque.
