The Big C: The Complete Second Season is a three-disc set of DVDs featuring Laura Linney in her Golden Globe role as a cancer patient who moves from ignoring her illness to fighting back by entering an experimental clinical trial. Played by Linney, the main character of Cathy is determined to rise above her cancer and live a full and normal life even in the face of the odds against her. The drama follows Cathy in her battle against the disease as she enters survival mode and focuses on beating it. The Big C: The Complete Second Season begins with Cathy entering the clinical trial along with a new friend she met who is much further along in the progression of the disease than she is. The show depicts a blend of drama and comedy that pulls the viewer along through the difficult and sometimes amusing moments in the life of a cancer patient. The three-disc set of The Big C: The Complete Second Season features deleted scenes and a gag reel comprised of bloopers and practical jokes of the cast members.
