    A camera with several drawbacks and few virtues.

    There was a fault so this particular camera did not store settings, including date and time, despite fitting a new button cell. So every time I recharged the main battery I had to re-enter my settings. The camera has a viewfinder that does not show what the lens will record and it has a very small LCD display screen. I could only fit filters if I bought an adapter - which is as expensive as the camera, and which would further obstruct the viewfinder. However the image quality is excellent, and it has the look, feel and WEIGHT of a traditional rangefinder 35mm camera.

    A handy , high quality 'take anywhere' camera. Well worth the money.

    Despite the heading, this NOT a DSLR! I already have several DSLRs (all Nikons) & SLRs, (various) but I wanted something smaller & lighter for carrying around. The G5 is much smaller than any of my DSLRs (and my Finepix S9600) and much handier for carrying around and using in a busy street. Although equipped with 'scene' modes and the standard 'program' & 'auto' it also allows full manual control, and Aperture priority and Shutter speed priority. It has an EVF but is also provided with an optical viewfinder, quaint but I prefer it. And because it is 'only' 5MP and newer cameras in the line have more, it is now dirt cheap. It even shoots video, not really wanted but nice to have just in case you are caught out needing an ...

    Full featured digital camera.

    I have used G3 model and results have been excellent even in available light. The megapixel is not high as per today's new models but it still takes high quality pictures. You have fully automatic camera or you can have full manual control. You can use extra flash too. It has both types of view finders. Electronic viewfinder can pop out and rotate in all directions. All in all lots of practical features.

    GREAT CAMERA,FANTASTIC IMAGE QUALITY ,CHUFFED. I HAVE RECOMMENDED IT.

    This is a fantastic camera,its swivel screen aids low level shots and the image quality as good as any 5.0 megapixel camera on the market.Using the viewfinder you can easily follow birds in flight and shoot multipule images like a motor drive 35m/m cameras had.A4 images are great,I would be tempted to go larger if that special image comes along.Best of all,the low price I paid for this fantastic piece of equipment.Well pleased with my purchase.Bob.
