I have 2 new kittens. I usually use Scoopfree but the cost was about $160 + $50 for 3 refills and then I would have to continue buying refill cartridges. I bought 2 CatGenie's for $250 each, seemed like a no brainer. One for my parents who have 2 cats and of course for our new kittens. It was fairly easy to install. I installed ours in an extra bathroom and my parents installed theirs in laundry area. Kittens used it immediately and have had no problems other then them throwing the litter over the edge. My parents cats haven't warmed up to it as easily but are still working on it. I like the fact that the kittens always have a clean litter box and that it flushes automatically. We don't have to worry about having bags of litter or extra cartridges. There is no smell of urine in the house. I would really recommend this to anyone with a cat. The $250 upfront is far less than the long run cost of using a conventional cat box.Read full review

I had this for a month with one cat, I set it to clean 30 mins after use. After the third week, it started giving an error three code which meant the water sensor was dirty. I cleaned the water sensor but was still getting the code. I replaced the sensor and it worked a another week but the code came back. I've purchased the maintainence liquid but have not received it yet. I've read the maintainence liquid is supposed to clean the machine and prevent this code. For the price we pay for this, the maintenance liquid should be include. I hate coming home to smell the litter box and see that the machine is not working only after one month of use.

I have 4 cats so I bought 2. The cats transitioned to it the first day. I put it in the same place as the old litter box because I had the water and drain available. It self cleans as often as I set it for. It is a little loud when cleaning but it's a small sacrifice. The litter does get on the floor like regular litter but it's easily swept up and put back in or thrown away. I wish I knew about this product years ago. I was so frustrated with cleaning heavy litter boxes it made me not want cats. This is a total game changer. I will never be without one again!! Get one now, stop scooping, stop the smell!

I was skeptical about spending the money on this product but it's so worth every penny. Easy to hook up and assemble. I do have a small bathroom but this is way better than having to clean a litter box each day. All I have to do is push a button & it's done! No more scooping or buying boxes & containers or litter every week. And the cats are all happy that they always have a clean place to go.

This is an awesome product. This was my second one. The first lasted about 7 years (I left it out in the weather in a no cat period). It was pricey with the shipping but for about $60 a year (to cover the cost of the machine) I never have to scoop litter again. And it smells so good. You do have to buy cleaning solution and THEIR litter (regular won't work) so that is an additional cost. Again, worth it!!!! I am a happy camper. Hookup. I just got a splitter to fit into the place that my washing machine drains and then I put the Genie in one end and the washer it the other. Easy.
