The city of sin is under siege from terrorists, and it's up to the talented Rainbow Six team to take them out. The follow-up to 2006's acclaimed squad-based shooter emphasizes new customization features and refined play mechanics. Vegas 2's storyline runs concurrently to the first game's story, so a new team is now playable. The leader's name is Bishop, who can be created as a male or female operative with a choice of gear and weapons. One of the game's biggest enhancements is an expansion of the "Persistent Elite Creation" concept from earlier titles. Now players can level up their characters throughout any of the available play modes. Similar to the online component in Call of Duty 4, players receive experience points by performing actions, completing objectives, and achieving victories. Killing terrorists, for example, or simply reaching a checkpoint earns characters experience, represented on a meter in the heads-up display. Once the meter is filled, players will advance in rank and receive new gear. Other ways of earning equipment include specializing in specific combat techniques. This A.C.E.S. system (Advanced Combat Enhancement Specialization) gives rewards for skills in three areas: close quarters, assault, and marksmanship. Players who make long-distance kills or headshots will earn points in the marksmanship category, which can unlock specific weapons like sniper rifles or assault rifles. Points are also earned for making kills while holding onto a rope, taking out multiple targets at once, using flash bangs, and so forth. Everything unlocked in one mode can be used in the others. Since the story takes place during the first game's time frame, players will explore different parts of the city, taking the fight on rooftops, through back alleys, across residential areas, within a strip club, inside the Las Vegas Convention Center, and more. Up to 14 players (16 on a dedicated server) can compete online in one of seven modes. New to Vegas 2 are the following formats: Team Leader, Total Conquest, and Demolition. Team Leader involves hunting down and killing the rival squad's designated leader while the other side attempts to do the same. Total Conquest has teams capturing and holding three satellite transmitters until time expires, while Demolition has one side trying to detonate a bomb as the other tries to defuse it. Other online improvements include faster loading times, more host control options, and the ability to save up to four weapon profiles.

Wow, This game has been around for quite some time, but so have I. The graphics, strategy and endless fun make this an excellent choice. As a grandfather the language is rough so I turn down the volume. Lot's of blood

Frustrating.
I'm struggling. Game is harder to maneuver than my other first person shooter games. Plug, if you get shot, you die! No health meters or multiple lives. I guess they're trying to imitate real life. not as fun.

Realistic = Slower. Still very fun.
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a very good game. I'm used to Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare and Call of Duty : World At War. Compared to those, the gameplay is slow. If you like fast paced action, you may wanna leave this one on the shelf. The good news is, it's slower for a reason. In the CoD titles you may just be able to run into a room a spray bullets and a waiting enemy. Not it R6V2. In this game you get up against the wall and peek around at your foe. You have the option to toss a grenade, smoke, C4, or other devices at them. You can also shoot at them in differnt ways. You can put just your weapon out the door and blind fire which is not accurate but doesn't expose you to damage or you can pop your head around the corner and use your scope to make a clean shot risking damage or death. Of ... Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a very good game. I'm used to Call of Duty 4 : Modern Warfare and Call of Duty : World At War. Compared to those, the gameplay is slow. Rainbow Six Vegas 2 is a very remarkable game, it clashes with first person and 3rd person perspectives. A very well calculated cover system helps when it tough situations. RSV2 has the coolest outfitting settings, you can customize your character how ever you want, from the under padding he wears to the face paint he uses. Add a enormous array of attachments to an even bigger array of weapons ranging from snipers, shotguns, assault rifles, and SMGs, and you get one heck of a game! Again from my other review of Unreal tournament 3 there's just one problem that always annoys me. The sensitivity. I've raised and lowered the sensitivity of the X and Y axes, but to no prevail. It always seems to slow or to fast. I've gotten it to a point were I can still enjoy the game, but it's still not ... The game takes place in the desert city of Las Vegas and has all the excitement of the previous Vegas game. Vegas 2 is probably an 8.5/10 if you ask me for the following reasons. PROS: the customization is limited in terms of the actual character is concerned (facial features etc.) but the gun customization and realistic effect is good enough to match up to Call of Duty 4. Another cool feature that is unique for this game is that you can choose different armor combinations for your character and camoflauge (dozens of colors to choose from). But if you just want to rank up fast I suppose that could be a Pro for you. Overall this game is a must have for fans of Rainbow Six, or even newcomers who like shooter games. It offers a unique way to play a shooter game and wont dissappoint.
