About this product

Product Information

Winner of the Gold Award in the 2006 ForeWord Book of the Year competition, this groundbreaking book describes the unique challenges of women and girls with Asperger's Syndrome. In it, you'll read candid stories written by the indomitable women who have lived them. You'll also hear from experts who discuss whether "Aspie girls" are slipping under the radar, undiagnosed; why many AS women feel like a minority within a minority (outnumbered by men 4:1); practical solutions school systems can implement for girls; social tips for teenage girls, navigating puberty, the transition to work or university, and the importance of careers.

  • If you are looking for answers this book will help

I bought this book because my 10 year old daughter is aspergers. She was diagnosed in kindergarten and since then I have been doing alot of research. This book was recommended by one of her teachers and has helped give more insight on her.

  • Helpful book regarding AS' uniqueness to girls

Most books on AS have been written from the point of view of helping boys. Since boys' behavior with AS is more quickly recognizable as being out of the norm, girls with the Syndrome have gone virtually unnoticed. The only complaint I have with the book is that a couple of the contributors seem to be condescending in their tone regarding the girl with AS.
