      Clever bit of marketing

      I had to take it apart to add a resistor to get the correct timing of the tuning signal, and to gain access to the 12V power for my tuner. It was bad value for cheap connector and capacitor. Once I had found the correct article on the internet, I realised I could have made it myself for less than £2. Photo shows modification with power lead connected.

      Just as described and works a treat.

      Does exactly what it meant to do, simply plug it into the ATU socket and power up. Now my IC-7100 keys up a tuning tone at 10w to allow the auto tuner/matcher to to its' thing without needing to wind the power down and up and change modes to kick the tuner into life. My ATU is auto-triggered by the RF fed into it so I needed to have something to let the radio know the ATU was there, this wee plug did the trick.
