Cult French singer Jacques Dutronc stars as computer whiz-kid Lucas in this incisive drama from Polish director Andrzej Zulawski (who starred in the 2003 remake of DANGEROUS LIAISONS). Jubilant at having invented a new computer language, Lucas's reverie is cut short when he is informed that he has a terminal illness which is gradually eroding his memory. Distraught at this news, Marcel's life is unexpectedly brightened by the appearance of Blanche (Sophie Marceau), with whom he enjoys a romantic liaison. Both are aware that their time will be cut short by Lucas's condition, adding an intriguing twist to their relationship. A fascinating study of a highly unusual relationship, Zulawski's film is a deeply affecting film that is soaked with sadness, and thematically similar to Luis Malle's DAMAGE.
