OpenBox V8S Surprise
This box was purchased to replace a faulty Panasonic. Considering the purchase price, I am very pleased with the general performance. No problems setting it up and it receives all the programs OK. I think the menu layouts could do with a re-think to make them more intuitive and the EPG program listing needs tidying up. It would be nice if the recording function followed normal recording practices so that recording your required program was straight forward. All of these minor gripes pale into insignificance when you take into account the very low purchase price for the specification you get. Very good satellite receiver box with built in wi-fi capability via a dongle. Intuitive menu makes it quite easy to set up, good EPG useful for satellite stations and favourites. PVR recording with a USB device available. Really good design makes this machine a winner. Excellent picture quality in HD. Remote is well designed and simple to use. Bought for a very good price, this receiver is much better than I anticipated and contains more functions than realised. Extremely good performance from this Openbox device and I would totally recommend it. Although boot-up is a little slow this is only a minor negative set against plenty of plus points.
