I have to mentally chuckle at De Niro for playing the mob boss/ gangster father who takes his family into witness protection in France of all places. The film is a Micky take on the French, the mob who are after him as well as the U.S. marshal T L Jones who handles the family. The kids are almost prosaic but not quite, one handling the growing up and hormones, and the other showing signs of a burgeoning gangster career. Entertaining and violent but not too. De Niro is great with a touch of caricature Italian mobster and Godfather in places. Pfeiffer's accent slips at times but I like to think her character tries to be more average American than Italian mobster's wife. Besson plays down the French location by making the town very ordinary. No picturesque scenes at all. What else can I say? We enjoyed it and would recommend it as a slightly comic, light but entertaining film.Read full review

Recommend a strong stomach bit near the mark in places, but a good laugh in a weird way.
