Synopsis
Over 50 years of an iconic classic! This international bestseller and inspiration for a beloved movie is a heroic story of friendship and belonging. No one ever said life was easy. But Ponyboy is pretty sure that he's got things figured out. He knows that he can count on his brothers, Darry and Sodapop. And he knows that he can count on his friends--true friends who would do anything for him, like Johnny and Two-Bit. But not on much else besides trouble with the Socs, a vicious gang of rich kids whose idea of a good time is beating up on "greasers" like Ponyboy. At least he knows what to expect--until the night someone takes things too far. The Outsiders is a dramatic and enduring work of fiction that laid the groundwork for the YA genre. S. E. Hinton's classic story of a boy who finds himself on the outskirts of regular society remains as powerful today as it was the day it was first published. " The Outsiders transformed young-adult fiction from a genre mostly about prom queens, football players and high school crushes to one that portrayed a darker, truer world." -- The New York Times "Taut with tension, filled with drama." -- The Chicago Tribune "[A] classic coming-of-age book." -- Philadelphia Daily News A New York Herald Tribune Best Teenage Book A Chicago Tribune Book World Spring Book Festival Honor Book An ALA Best Book for Young Adults Winner of the Massachusetts Children's Book Award, The 45th anniversary of a landmark work of teen fiction Ponyboy can count on his brothers and his friends, but not on much else besides trouble with the Socs, a vicious gang of rich kids who get away with everything, including beating up greasers like Ponyboy. At least he knows what to expect--until the night someone takes things too far. Written forty-five years ago, S. E. Hinton's classic story of a boy who finds himself on the outskirts of regular society remains as powerful today as it was the day it was written.

      Great book!

This book was a favorite of mine as a teen. Now many years later my teenage daughter is just as obsessed with it as I was. She loved this book! It's an easy read but I'll warn you it is quite hard to put it down once you start reading it. Would definitely recommend this book to anyone.

    • Most critical review

Title was good, never read it. Wrong book.

Was told it was the same book as the one with multiple people on it just a different cover & it is not. So in my case a waste of money, wasn't the book we needed for school.

    • It’s good

Just so you know it is a lightly used book but practically in perfect condition thank you soooo sooooo much it’s a lot easer to read with the book actually in your hands instead of online! Gosh online work is the worst ! But thanks agin can’t super quick. I totally recommend if you are ok with a few scratches on the book but hey a book is a book it is readable and it’s not like some one bite a chunk out of it ! And the price is outstanding!!!! Thank you agin such a life saver !!!!!!!!!

    • Very good purchase

My son loved this book, he couldnt put it down. I had read this in school as a teen and thought he'd enjoy it for fun. It was an ebook which was easier for him and it was sent right after my payment went through.

    • My daughter loves the book, which is saying something, as we normally struggle to get her to read.

Product is in great condition and looks practically new. Just as described.
