Synopsis
The final part of Andrew Dalton's charming Malplaquet trilogy is again set in the landscape gardens at Stowe and concludes the fascinating adventures of the tiny Lilliputians whom we first met in The Temples of Malplaquet. That first book introduced us to the young teenager Jamie Thompson, his elderly friend 'Granny,' and a whole host of tiny people who have been secretly living and hiding in the mysterious gardens for centuries - especially the clever but eccentric Nigriff, and the bumbling but good-natured General Thorclan. The little characters have enemies of course, who pursued them relentlessly in the second book, The Lost People of Malplaquet, and as the dangers increase in this final part it seems likely that the Lilliputians will never achieve their New Empire. But they will never give up - and there are plenty of surprises along the way - for everyone. A quinessentially English story, inspired by Johnathan Swift's Gulliver's Travels and T.H. White's Mistress Masham's Repose, these books are written primarily for children aged 8-14, but contain plenty for older readers to enjoy as well. The wonderful and gripping world of Malplaquet is brought to life as delightfully as ever by Jonny Boatfield's illustrations., This reader consists of the full Arabic text of 11 carefully chosen and very readable short stories by established Egyptian, Iraqi, Syrian and Jordanian writers. The earliest story, written in 1929, is by the Egyptian Mahmud Tahir Lashin; the most recent by the Iraqi writer, Fuad al-Takarli, written in 1972. Each story has an introduction, in English, with biographical information about the author, placing him in his literary context, a description of the contents and a brief analysis of the story itself. In addition, each story is accompanied by a critical literary analysis. The aim of this collection is to encourage a literary appreciation of modern Arabic texts, and an understanding of some of the cultural conflicts reflected in the writings. This title includes writers such as Yusuf Idris, Idwar El Kharrat, Yahya Haqqi, Zakariyya Tamir and Ghalib Halasa. It is ideal for students of Arabic language and literature

Excellent seller. Package was delayed ( by bad weather) and then misplaced at PO( placed in wrong box #) but I contacted the seller and they responded quickly and I got my item today. This seller went the extra mile and I would highly recommend them and will shop here again. I also want to say the price for this complete hard to find item was way below most of the other listings. Condition was good as stated, and although I've only watched the first disc it's quality is good. Thank you!!

The cd was well packed and arrived safely. Unfortunately, the disc I received wasn't the original cd. It had been replaced by a CD-R. I immediately alerted World of Books USA regarding the problem and an officer of the company responded within 24 hours. They have provided a full refund of the purchase. Great customer service and communication. The case was resolved to my satisfaction. Will continue to do business with World of Books USA. Thanks.

I received my items in great condition. The books were packed really well and survived the shipping process well. The books appeared described by the seller. Excellent service by the seller, who responded quickly to an inquiry that was more of an issue with the current state of USPS. Excellent transaction with the seller overall!
