Additional Information
James Marsh's biopic of the celebrated scientist Stephen Hawking, THE THEORY OF EVERYTHING, stars Eddie Redmayne as the famous figure. Enrolled as a graduate student at Cambridge, Hawking establishes himself as one of the leading minds of his generation, and begins to win the heart of Jane (Felicity Jones). After one of his earliest breakthoughs, Hawking is diagnosed with ALS, and he becomes less and less able to control his own body. With the loyal Jane at his side, he continues his work. However, as the years progress, Jane begins to feel more like a nurse than a wife, and Hawking begins to have feelings for a woman who is hired to care for him.
Reviews
Entertainment Weekly - What Redmayne does is breathtaking-and it never feels like a performance. In a much less showy role, Jones does her own heartbreaking work as the woman who dedicated her life to loving and caring for Hawking., Empire - A compassionate and inspiring look at an extraordinary life, anchored by two of the best performances of the year., Little White Lies - Redmayne and Jones prove that marriage is just as absorbing (and perplexing) as quantum physics., Washington Post - It's an exceptional film, not because of its protagonists' impressive triumphs, but because it honors their struggle.

Excellent Performances by Eddie Redmayne and Felicity Jones

The breathtaking performance of Eddie Redmayne as Stephen Hawkings caught most of my attention the first time round - he fully deserved his Oscar for playing this mentally and physically challenging role so well - but Felicity Jones is very good too. The film is engaging and well shot and gentle on Hawkings. Because it makes him out to be nicer than he seems to have been in real life and does not portray the full extent of the illness, the film remains very much a feel-good movie which can raise some interesting questions about life.

    Reviewing The Theory Of Everything

Fasinating story picture quality is excelent, sadly the sound quality is poor in compaision As to value for money, poor as the sound quality lowers the value Eddie Redmayne does an exceptional portal of Steven Hawkings I would recommend watching this film, if you can get a better copy

  • Fascinating

This film gives an insight into the life of Stephen Hawking which might be somewhat romanticised but there is still enough edge to it to make it interesting. The characters seem to be quite well portrayed, and Eddie Redmayne exceeds all expectations when it comes to his role as Hawking. I think he was exceptional in this role.

  • Excellence at its best.

This was the best film I have seen for a long time, I could watch it over and over again without getting bored, and the acting by Eddie Redmayne is absolutely outstanding deserved every award it received.
