Christmas with The Carpenters
Grew up listening to the Carpenters and have always loved their music, and no one can sing like Karen could. I actually bought the Christmas cd because our 4 year old heard them singing a Christmas song on the radio and asked who that was. I told her "The Carpenters" and she said she really liked them. I asked her if she wanted me to buy a cd of them singing Christmas songs and she said "YES" real fast. We played it and she loved it. It is funny when a little one loves the same music you did and still do. I wish Karen was still here, just think of all the beautiful music she still had to offer. Excellent Comprehensive Carpenters Holiday Collection!
Both CD's offered as a set highlight both Carpenters Christmas LP's. Christmas Portrait was recorded and released in 1978. Old Fashioned Christmas (1984) was completed a year after Karen's death. Some songs on Old Fashioned Christmas were recorded for Christmas Portrait and were not used on the 1978 release due to time and space constraints. Richard decided to release the songs not used on Christmas Portrait as a remembrance of his sister Karen (since Christmas was her favorite time of year). As a double CD offering, this CD set highlights all of the secular and sacred songs recorded by Karen and Richard. As with all of their pop standards LP's, these LP's are top notch Holiday listening fare with Karen's marvelous vocals and Richard's exacting production standards. All in all, a highly listenable set to lift your spirits this Holiday season and for many more Christmases to come.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Hands down the best Christmas CD I've ever listened to! This one takes me back to the good ole Christmases we used to have when my parents were still here.
