Jeong-Hyang Lee's film stars Seung-Ho Woo as Sang-Woo, a spoiled seven-year- old dumped by his mother on his aged grandmother. He hates everything about his new life in the country - the batteries on his Gameboy fail, the food she prepares is nothing like the fast food he enjoyed in the city and the countryside is boring. But slowly, he begins to realise the sacrifices she is silently making for him and when his mother comes to collect him, he has become a changed boy. Lee's film uses two non-professional leads who put so- called stars to shame and if the film does wear its heart on its sleeve, it has a humanity and dignity that is dramatically refreshing. In Korean with English subtitles.
