    Coming Home. A Winer.

    Great character development and study. All the elements of empathy and pathos. John Voight did a masterful job, while Jane Fonda, (have never been a fan of her), did also do a very credible job. For all Viet Nam vets, I think this is a great film.

    Coming Home - A boring Jane Fonda movie

    I like Jon Voight and Bruce Dern, so I got this movie. I only got to see Bruce Dern act toward the end of the movie, all-be-it a great job, I wanted to see him more. And Jon Voight can't talk much with Jane Fonda running her mouth. So it's a typical feminist anti-war Jane Fonda movie. She cheats on her husband with Jon Voight. Wow, like there's not enough movies about that. And that's pretty much it. I was hoping to see some PTS and nightmarish Nam scenes or something, and you do see Jon Voigh's urin bag explode. That was cool! And Bruce gets over dramatic at the end. But it's definitely not making the cut for me as a great film. Sorry Fonda fans!

    Coming Home was uniquely isolating for every vet returning from Vietnam. I showed this to a high school study group along with Catch 22.

    Here was a vietnam era 3 way conflict/romance that captured two kinds of herosim from the male characters, and two more from the leading female character. Perfectly cast, totally memorable.

    Politics aside

    I don't care what you personally think about Jane Fonda. She won the Oscar for best actress, Jon Voit won for best actor and the picture won the Best Picture Oscar. How much more could you ask for in a movie?
