I bought a rare vintage fragile pottery item, then it was packed it a box barely bigger than the item without enough padding. The item arrived with the box crushed and the item broken. Thin pressurized air plastic bags were used and the heavy item popped them allowing movement, disaster followed. A bigger box & sufficient Styrofoam padding could have prevented this.
