    Fun light read!

It’s a light-hearted novel with interesting characters from the Channel Islands. I’m only about half way through. I’m the presenter in a month for my book club. I’m also listening to the audio version-which has great voices.

  • Fun book, serious subject

I sure I will enjoy this book this second time of reading. Purchased it to report for my book club (at my suggestion). I read it a few years back and loved it then. Thanks to the author for writing it.

  • Endearing tale of life during WWII on Guernsey Island.

First time I have read a book of letters. Unique way of writing a book. These letters really gave the reader a way to meet and learn about the characters. I have been reading a lot of books about WWII but I especially liked this book and how it humanized it's characters. It led me to want to see the movie made about it, but the movie was not available to be seen in the US because we are in different regions. Imagine my surprise when I found it on Netflix!

  • Don’t Judge a Book by its Title!

I bought this book to donate to my school after listening to the audiobook. I think students will enjoy it, if they get past the strange title. Written in letter form, the book describes conditions and relationships during the Nazi occupation of the island of Guernsey.

  • A must have...

...for your library. Absolutely the most delicious book I've ever read. I didn't want the story to end and when it did, I missed the characters that I had come to love.
