    Entertaining series!

    Great series! Loved this show on TV back in the day, but missed a lot of episodes and often watched episodes out of order, on rerun. Watching it in sequence now from the DVD set is quite a treat. Patrick Jane is a consultant for the CA Bureau of Investigation (CBI). He's a former carnival "psychic", having grown up as a carnie. He has incredible powers of observation and helps the CBI solve cases, though his unethical and comedic antics constantly get him in trouble. The stories are good! The acting is, too.

    When my box set arrived to could hear that some of the disc were out and loose. They appeared to be okay and fine. I have not watched them yet so hopefully there won’t be a problem. I love this series glad to have a copy.

    thought provoking, intalecually stimulating, almost more fun than you can stand. :-)

    I like-love crime dramas. Most of them follow sort of a formula in their episodes. Bruno Hell worked very hard to make Patrick Jane and unusual character and his relationships with his coworkers unique and often easy to predict. The first 5.5 years we are hunting down Red John, the serial killer that killed Jane's wife and daughter. Jane is to some extent a broken man that needs to mend or be mended and all of this makes for complex story lines. Also there is tons of stuff that links episodes together, hints of who Red John might be and why he appears to be aware of so many things and why Red John is a perfect foil for someone as sharp and as observant as Jane is. This is a fight worth watching. I don't think I have ever been hooked on a program that is so complex and has so much ...

    Psychological portrait of human grief, revenge and healing.

    Fascinating psychological journey of a man who suffers the murderous loss of his wife and daughter, then builds a new life out of depression by catching sociopaths. Jane's ability to observe and deduce rivals only Sherlock Holmes. Be in it for the long game; Jane and Lisbon heal together by the end. I love having the complete set to catch all the clues!

    Love “the Mentalist”

    Love “the Mentalist”. The price was great and it shipped faster than anticipated. It was damaged, though not affecting the CDs. The case for one of the seasons was broken. It would have been wiser to put the item in a larger box than to simply wrap the product in bubble wrap. It could easily have affected the quality of the cds. It had clearly been dropped. Since it was shipped all the way from China, it was remarkable that was the only damage that was sustained.
