A book that has been read and does not look new, but is in excellent condition. No obvious damage to the book cover, with the dust jacket (if applicable) included for hard covers. No missing or damaged pages, no creases or tears, no underlining or highlighting of text, and no writing in the margins. Some identifying marks on the inside cover, but this is minimal. It shipped pretty fast and since it was coming overseas I expected it to take more than two weeks or so to get here, but not six days! The two books came exactly as they were shown in the pictures. As a sucker for Roman history, this was a great and unique find! I managed to a pair of books like this in Abebooks with the mylar too, but someone bought it before I did, so I'm glad I had the chance to buy this.
