    This was as pictured. The other item in the same shipment was not the edition and cover ordered and I was very disappointed about that. Looking at other recent reviews it seems other buyers have the same complaints - they send you any old cover and not the one you wanted and chose specifically because of their photo. Second frequent comment is true too - very flimsy packaging, but the books were fine. I'd say if you want a specific cover do NOT order from this seller. Otherwise fine.

    Great series brought to life on DVD

    This was such a great syndicated TV series in 1994-95 produced by Stephen J. Cannell that unfortunately, was short lived. . The DVD brings clarity and rich color to what was missing during the broadcast. Based on characters from the Leatherstocking Tales, a set of novels written by James Fenimore Cooper, the series takes place in 1755 Hudson Valley, New York during the French and Indian War. GREAT PERIOD PIECE especially of you are interested in the history of this era!

    Completely worth watching and more than once!

    This is a well-researched portrayal of the period & includes actual events that took place in the mid 18th century Hudson Valley in many episodes. Music is engaging and the lighting is excellent, with some fort interiors looking like oil paintings. Lee Horsley created a character different from others he has played: no western accent, slower pace, different walk. Carried the wardrobe, including items hanging from his neck, waist, shoulders, legs with ease as though they had always been part of his life without being a distraction or a burden. Expert with the weapons and tools of the period, he handled them with grace & respect due items that made the difference between life & death. Picked them up & put them down without clunking & finished the movements. Didn't throw anything away. ...

    Stunning series with good stories.

    Excellent series. The characters portray the frontier characters very well. Lynda Carter is beautiful. I enjoyed every episode. I can reccommend it to anyone who likes stories about this era of American history.
