The Beauty of The Lithuanian Language
Linguists consider Lithuanian to be the oldest Indo-European language in use today. It is also considered the most Indo-European language in that the "Indo" part of its heritage is greater than that found in other Indo-European languages. There are approximately 2.8 million native Lithuanian speakers in Lithuania and another 1,000,000 speakers outside of Lithuania. The number of native Lithuanian speakers in the world is about equal to the poulation of Los Angeles. There are very few Lithuanian-English dictionaries. This particular dictionary has almost 800 pages of word entries, with definitions, pronunciations, and parts of speech. There are a couple of other, smaller dictionaries. However, I am glad to have this *comprehensive* book helping me along as I make my journey to learn Lithuanian.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
