    good mount cutter ruler

    lightweight aluminium but robust. good recess groove along one edge for cutter to run smoothly. aluminium is quite soft substrate and can churn up and become ragged if the mount cutter blade slips regularly. would prefer in steel, but overall good product value for money and am pleased.

    Not for professional results

    I knew when I was buying a lower-priced cutter in a plastic frame that it wasn't professional quality, but the results were disappointing. The plastic components had too much give, allowing the knife edge to drift off a straight line when cutting heavy (1.4mm) matting board. I only bought this for occasional use, but I wish I had paid the difference for a better quality one.
