This became a cult TV series. It starred Patrick McGoohan, who had previously been in ‘Danger Man.’ It was made in Portmeirion, north Wales, which was an effective backdrop for the story of espionage and imprisonment. McGoohan also produced the series. It was an original idea and foreshadowed future spy drama stories.

Brilliant box set of the cult TV show which was sadly ended too soon. I'm old enough to remember watching this when first aired, and this re-mastered version is excellent. An interesting aside, if you're in the locale, is to visit Portmeirion and experience many of the location shoots 1st hand. Although quite clearly somewhat dated due to it's age, this series has lost none of it's original mystery. Great stuff, love it.
Having watched this TV series in the sixties I jumped at the chance to obtain the series on DVD. It was way ahead of its time yet still seems groundbreaking today. With its unusual plots and storylines you never know what to expect which adds to the experience. The setting of Portmerion where the series was filmed suits the context of it all perfectly. I recommend purchasing this DVD set for those who enjoy something which does not conform to any set standards and is thought provoking as well as entertaining. Patrick Mcgoohan was an excellent choice for the lead role and his fine acting makes it all the more enjoyable Eric.R
This order began with a conversation about Roy Harper (McGoohan's Blues) and then McGoohan's similarly renegade assault on national TV's sensibilities. I haven't yet started on the book that comes in the set but I'd strongly recommend the 'Making Of...' documentary that comes in the DVD Extras. The series itself remains as utterly baffling as ever.
