Look great, work great, weigh less.
Hipshot tuners are quality made. They operate smoothly. But the best part is the weight. They way about 1/3 less than Grovers. I have a guitar that has "neck drop". A symptom of poor design where the guitar is off balance and heavier towards the neck and headstock. I saw on forums people recommend Hipshot tuners to reduce the headstock weight. I got the open back tuners on eBay and plastic keys directly from hipshot and reduced the weight a total of 100g. Really improved the neck drop. They look good and perform excellent.Hipshot tuners are quality made. They operate smoothly. But the best part is the weight. They way about 1/3 less than Grovers. Great tuners-period.
These are great tuners. Good working and good looking. The UMP makes them fit almost every guitar without drilling new holes in your headstock. And, they cost less than many other name brand tuners. What's not to like? Get these, you won't be sorry.

The best value in quality locking tuners, hands down !
The HipShot locking tuners are the best dollar value available, period ! If you are using these on a PRS just keep in mind they will look better if you use the screws rather than the UMP plate because of the shape of the headstock. Also, the open gear tuners are a higher 18:1 ratio (compared to 15:1 for closed-gear) which I prefer because they are lighter weight and more accurate. I have upgraded 5 of my guitars with these so far and been extremely happy with every one of them. Very smooth, no back-lash, 18:1 is the perfect ratio along with very consistent quality control.The HipShot locking tuners are the best dollar value available, period !
