To be honest, I recently bought a new camera with an adapter to accept Canon lenses, and when I ordered this lens I had no idea what I wanted or needed in a lens. I actually bought a few different lenses, and this lens seems to be excellent. The fixed focal length gives you a little bit more flexibility with aperture, but you will want to make sure that this focal length is something you want. That said, the lens is likely <$30 so the risk is fairly low. Overall, this lens, like most of the old school Canon lenses, works great as long as you don't mind messing with the manual focus and aperture. It's not super likely that I'll use this lens on a regular basis due to the specific focal length, but I have it in case I need it.

The Canon FD 135mm f/3.5 is an inexpensive, slow, manual focus lens that's a good value as an additional lens for a photographer looking for a little more reach than their standard stock lens. Adapters are available to fit most camera types. I bought it for use with my Olympus Micro 4/3rds E-P1 camera when I didn't have anything longer than 50mm. It works fine for brightly light outdoor shots but no one is going to shoot the moon - literally - with this lens. For sports or darker scenery spend a little more and get a faster lens.
Every photographer and filmmaker needs one of these lenses in their arsenal. This Canon 135mm prime lens produces a stunning telephoto image without adding a lot of bulk to your camera body. With enough light, its f3.5 aperture is suitable for indoor use as well as outdoor use. The best part about this lens is the shallow depth of field that it produces. You can easily create several layers of an image just because of how shallow the DOF is. I am currently using this with a video camera and a 35mm DOF adapter and I can pull off some outstanding rack focuses. Don't think twice about getting this lens, you won't regret it.

This is basically the consumer lens from the early 70's for the Canon FD-mount film cameras. As expected, this is a sturdy build with good glass. Images are sharp, and the lens works as expected. Shooting with prime lenses instead of zooms forces you to think more directly about choices for your composition. So a great lens that sparks your creativity!
