It was shipped from Pennsylvania, to Atlanta, past Alabama to Texas, enjoyed several days in Texas, then to Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Florida, back to Atlanta, finally to Birmingham, and Huntsville.     So Much More Than a Knitting Book!

    This book is so much more than a book on knitting--it's full of the history and culture of the Shetland Islands and, in particular, Fair Isle. The photos of the area are breath-taking, as are the photos of Starmore's beautiful Fair Isle knitwear patterns. She places her knitwear side-by-side with photos of her inspirations: flora, fauna, pebbles, shells, sand, sea, buildings, taxis, and whatever else catches her fancy and starts her creative juices flowing. In this book, Starmore has written the most authoritative tutorial on Fair Isle knitting I have come across in my many years of knitting and acquiring books of knitting instruction.
