It was shipped from Pennsylvania, to Atlanta, past Alabama to Texas, enjoyed several days in Texas, then to Minneapolis, Jacksonville, Florida, back to Atlanta, finally to Birmingham, and Huntsville.     Rereading Jane Austen.

    I had watched three different tv/movie versions and all were significantly different. Curiousity led me to reading the book snd it clarifies the story. Also depending on publish date the vernacular enlightens differently.

    Pride and Prejudice

    Classic novel by Jane Austen, much already said about it. What I like is that the initial meetings and subsequent courtships, with all their misunderstandings, quick mistaken judgments, and in the end final successes of the love relationships are in many ways quite the same today as they were when the book was first written in the 1800s, a tribute to the notion that some things never change. Austen writes with humor and compelling details, dives into the personalities and their interactions, and reflects on them without unnecessary distractions. The entire novel hangs together, each detail being both engaging and necessary for full appreciation. I absolutely relish every paragraph and page and am in no hurry to finish.
