    The item displayed is no longer sold by Tesco. It was changed by Tesco to a new blend and new packaging, but with the same 'finest' name. The new blend is not to my taste and is no substitute. I thought I had found a seller with the old blend in stock. No, the item received is the new tea. Thankfully, Marvellous Group has accepted the reason for its return and I am waiting for its receipt so that they will reimburse me. So far, I've found them very professional and understanding.

    An excellent idea which would be even better if a little wider

    I have bought one before and it is excellent for stringing the sides and slicing beans. However, if the beans are not crisp they will not go through easily. It has a spring to take varying widths, but older beans are too wide and if the beans inside have grown large they get stuck. I thought a new one may be sharper but it made little difference, If you can move the beans from side to side as you are push them in this helps. They can usually be pulled through once you have enough to hold. It works very well on the fresh grown beans from the garden which can be picked when still narrow. They taste better then too. All in al an excellent idea which would be even better if a little wider.

    dissapointing

    the blades need to be sharper, it's the only thing that lets this down and I'm afraid stops it working, it bends and mutilates the beans instead of cutting them.

    Don't be Krisk-averse, this is the best.

    The last one we bought survived 20 years or more before the spring came off, and it was washed in a dishwasher after every use, despite what it says on the wrapper (but that's just to protect the makers, right?) I expect this one will last just as long, too. Always buy the genuine article. Avoid imitations. The blades stay sharp and the mouth expands to accept all but the widest runner beans. An excellent gadget.

    works very well

    excellent gadget, blades vey sharp unlike the cheaper one I bought previously. it strips away the stringy bits of runner beans and slices the bean into thin strips which cook quickly and makes them very tender to eat.

    Good but could be even better.

    Very easy to use but it will not shred wider beans, the beans have to be cut in two lengthways and therefore not removing the string. I think there is a redesign opportunity to to make the cutter aperture wider.
