No instructions with it. I connected it to my battery, which has been powering led lights for 8 months without a charge. After 6 hours the unit was rather warm so rather than leave it overnight, I unplugged it. Put it back on today and left it for another 6 hours and the red led on it was still red. Was about to give up, but got the multimeter out and checked voltage, which was 8.2 volts, the battery voltage was 7.6 volts, so apparently fully charged. Then the green led came on, so working fine
