    Necessary but expensive.....

    The Givi Spacer kit is essential for fitting the quick release/ rapid release panniers to your bike. Especially in the case of buying a second hand set of racks where the predecessor hasn't included all of the bits, such as a missing pair of the "spacers". These are the female parts of the dzus type 1/2 turn locking fastner bespoke to givi. They're not cheap, but they get the job done. Cheaper than buying the conversion kits. The like of which cost around £100. The picture of the back of my bike shows the location. The bolts they come with are just about enough to gain purchase through the existing givi mounting hardware. Had to use thread lock to secure the nuts in the other side. Will ensure I take the spare pair of spacers with me in any long range touring I do in case of loss.
