  • What age group!

Collecting the Harry potter books Started a few years ago. To be honest I had seen the book just after all the hype of the first film. The good thing about being a family man you can always buy things "just for the children". I like to believe that is how I ended up getting it. The problem being I found that I was soon reading them and found them enjoyable. It also means that I can sit there and complain that this films not as good as the book. A British male enjoys nothing more then finding something to moan about! What I like is that the book always starts at the beginning but doesn't always finish at the end. What I am trying to say is as you start to read the book (any in the series) you are brought up to date as you read. You know that there has to of been a book before it but you can ...

  • Read it! Ideally before you watch the film - or instead. Or at least after.

Bought as wanted hardback edition that wouldn't fall apart with a lot of handling: takes a long time to read this one out loud to your kids.. My oldest daughter and I are huge fans of Harry Potter - we all grew up together when the books first came out! - so I want the little kids to know the 'real' stories before they watch the films. The films are excellent, but they omit so many details, not to mention whole story lines, and - horror! - sometimes actually alter the story. Read the book. The world of Harry Potter (hope that's not a trade mark now) is a wonderful one and the books are where you can fall in love with it.

  • Great read

This book doesn’t disappoint. The series of books just keep getting better as they reveal far more than any movie could possibly do. So as a HP fan, it’s a must
