    Bring your vintage computer back to life!

    I use these CF to IDE adapters mainly to add new life to vintage computer systems. Paired with an XTIDE controller, such as the Monotech or Lo-Tech models, a vintage computer can use a CF card as a hard drive. This adapter fits perfectly into any 3.5" drive bay or 5.25" drive bay with a 3.5" to 5.25" drive bay adapter. A 4 pin Molex power to 4 pin Berg power adapter is included. The kit also includes a bracket to mount the CF card adapter into a card slot if preferred. If your XTIDE controller supplies power over the 40pin PATA (IDE) cable then the use of the Molex to Berg power adapter will not be needed. I installed a Tex-Elec Lo-Tech XTIDE controller and one of these card adapters into my Tandy 1000HX without the need to run a power cable to the adapter since the Lo-Tech supplies power ...

    This product, combined with a PATA Compatible CF card, can replace those obsolete Zip drives used in some of the older products and devices, such as older "Porta-Studio" style audio recorders and samplers. I personally have two of these devices and got some new life out of perfectly functioning devices that depended upon obsolete media. These units are extremely well constructed and usually, plug and play replacements.
