The swivel of the blades does slightly diminish its cutting performance but the blades last much longer than line.
I normally use 2.4mm line or an assortment of blades inc. tungsten carbide saw blades. Where this unit scores is the longevity of the nylon blades in an area where you don't want to use metal blades. I was able to cut a 400m stretch of really tough, tall grass and broad leaved reeds and the blades are only partly worn. I feel the swivel action of the blades does slightly diminish its cutting performance in areas where nylon line could be used but would wear much more quickly. Overall it's choosing the right head for the job but I would recommend this unit and it's pretty good quality especially compared to the withdrawn Stihl polycut heads - Made in Italy too not China which is a bonus.I normally use 2.4mm line or an assortment of blades inc. tungsten carbide saw blades. Great value!
I was very impressed with the quality of this strimmer head when it arrived. I don't normally buy cheap products because I generally deem it false economy. However, this has impressed me greatly. I've hacked through brambles, docks and too many nettles to mention and it's performed brilliantly. Don't be put off by the cheap price it's a bargain worth having.

Strimmer head
I have struggled for years replacing strimmer lines, I wish I had come across this attachment before, it is very robust & with the attached blades eats through Grass & some heavier weeds with no trouble at all & up to now I have not had to change blades.
