This 1982 film has great scenery, great music, look looking actors, nudity, a so-so plot, and bad writing by Randal Kleiser. It's a fun 98 minute get away from reality. Don't look for Oscar caliber here, but don't pass it up. The actors did the best they could with the material they were given. Valerie Quennessen is a delight! She stood out over Gallagher & Hannah. The innovative music from Basil Poledouris added to the movie. The scenic Santorini and Mykonos made me want to travel there. The photography was excellent. I disagree with the other ebaY reviewer, I'm a girl and it's one of my favorite films. Plot: An unmarried couple from the U.S. go to vacation in Santorini. The guy has a fling with a French archaeologist working in Akrotiri, (ancient city buried, and preserved by, the volcanic ash). His girlfriend finds out about the affair, and goes to meet the other woman. The French woman, Lena is impressed with the girlfriend's photography, and all 3 become involved in a friendship which leads to a menage a trios. Eventually Lena the decides to leave the couple, since their vacation will be over soon, and she doesn't want to be alone after their vacation ends. She finds a German boyfriend, but doesn't seem happy. The couple decides to leave the island 2 weeks early since they aren't having much fun anymore. Their villa is paid for up those remaining 2 weeks according to the owner. Lena discovers they just left and catches up with them as they are about to board the plane. The couple decides to stay on, and the 3 are briefly seen happily frolicking in the water. I was disappointed in the DVD version. I thought it should have included a Director's cut, some behind the scenes footage, and some out takes. These additions would have made the DVD much more enjoyable.Read full review
I originally saw this film at 20 yo and I actually learned a lot about the nature of jealousy and what it really is from this film. Beautiful cinematography, interesting and insightful script and a stunning performance from Valerie Quinnesson, who died way too soon. The music soundtrack also has some music from Tina Turner during her transition from Ike to her own music in Private Dancer. "John and Mary" is my favorite.

Corny, unrealistic plot. But, I bought it for the views of Santorini as we're going there in the Summer. I have to admit, I do like the views of all the naked ladies, but that's just an extra bonus.

The characters are engaging and make you long for simpler times (the 80s ?) and the supposed love triangle will picque your interest as well.
