Synopsis
Jonathan, the best woodcarver in the valley, keeps to himself and never smiles or laughs. Then one day he has visitors, and the quiet request of one of them, a small boy, changes everything. Masterful watercolor paintings make this an unforgettably beautiful book -- as much a treasure for its illustrations as for its gentle narrative.

      Christmas Family Tradition

We were given this book when our 6 children were small and it fast became a family tradition to all cuddle on the couch and read this beautiful, heartwarming story of the lonely woodcarver and how his own life was restored as he replaced a young widow and her son's nativity figures. And even though they knew it was coming..I would get them everytime with .."Not there! NO one sits there!" and everytime as I paused at the end to compose myself to continue reading..6 pairs of eyes and ears would be waiting for me to finish... The story is wonderful and the illustrations are magnificent! Our son was the first to be married and I bought him his own copy so he can continue the tradition in his own home..he is an artist and collects PJ Lynch illustrated books. Don't be fooled by the movie of ...

    • Christmas Classic that no one has heard of!

Christmas Miracle is really one of the 'sleeper' classics of Christmas lore of the past 30 years. Way more than a children's book the narrative and the not to be missed illustrations truly resonate with the 'reason for the season'! Linger over this book and bring ample tissues at the end!
