    What a treat! Ingmar Bergman’s The Magician!

    What a joy to get a beautiful copy of Bergman’s The Magician. Not an easy Dvd to find. The notes inside are also quite special.

    This criterion edition has a booklet that explains aspects of a mysterious plot. Very good.

    Not everyone's cup of tea

    It took two viewings for this masterpiece to fully sink in. Though I can agree that the story does unfold at a rather slow pace, as with all Bergman films, The Magician raises many ethical questions and dilemmas that are still valid. This is Max von Sydow in his prime.
