Typical Haynes Manual: Clear, Precise and Easy to Follow.
The Haynes manual I could have appreciated forty years ago, when I owned a Gold Star. As with all Haynes manuals, the layout is clear, precise and easy to follow, with separate chapters for Engine, Frame, Gearbox, Wheels, Brakes and Electrical systems. As per the description on the front cover, the manual covers all single-cylinder pre-unit BSA post-war models up to 1961, including Side-valve and Overhead Valve engines and the Sport models, which differ significantly from the Road models. Inside the manual, each chapter is laid out in sections, with photographs and exploded diagrams, where appropriate. The exploded diagrams also include a list of numbered parts, identifying each part which makes up the whole unit. It is very easy to see in which order to dismantle and/or assemble the ...
