Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe
For the first time, the makers of Mortal Kombat have decided to invoke the right of all superhero properties and create a crossover. This crossover is with the Detective Comics Universe. Big names like Superman, Batman and the Green Lantern mix it up with Liu Kang, Scorpion and Sub-Zero in a match to the near death. I say near death because the DCU superheroes are not allowed to kill, but the super villains and all of the MK characters have no such restrictions. What this game comes down to is a slugfest between two different properties in a storyline that forces the good and bad people to eventually team up to separate the two merging realms. The merger of the MK and DCU realms are also the reason why powerhouses like Superman and Green Lantern simply cannot take out their enemies ... After playing every fighting game in MK history ever available on a game console, it comes to no surprise how the controls are essentially the same. The controls are still low and high punches and kicks with blocking. Of course entering a specific sequence with these buttons creates special moves and finishers. There are a few new tweaks, such as the new testing one's might and freefall kombat sequences and the ability to increase certain statistics during a match for a small period. The game modes are divided between both the MK and DCU properties. The storyline is based on each character’s perspective and eventually the two properties merge and separate with a mix of interactions. Returning is the same fight mode that has been around since the beginning. Players fight their way up a line of random fighters to become number one. This game also sports an online mode that enters players in to a waiting room to make or await challenges. Keep in mind some players may rank low, but in essence are seasoned experts at Mortal Kombat. The main draw of this game is the inclusion of the DCU characters. The online play and the additional tweaks are appreciated. They add some freshness to an old formula. There are four additional characters to be unlocked, two from each property. This game is a buy for players who love the MK and DCU properties.

2 Huge Franchises In 1 Game! Awesome!
I bought this game because of Mortal Kombat's bloody violence. Including DC characters is icing on the cake! Classic beat 'em up with Fatalities, Heroic Brutalities, Free Fall, Test Your Might, and Klose Kombat. This game plays just like any recent Soul Calibur game. Characters move on a 3-d plane, moving around the opponent, while fighting on the 2-d plane, in front or behind of each other. There are several modes to play: Storymode, 1 Player challenges, 2 Player VS, Online, etc. The storyline is divided into 2, one to play as MK characters and the other for DC. Each one is further divided into chapters, each chapter is played by a different character from either MK or DC. You have to play as every character, a nice inclusion. Eventually join forces to save both ... I bought this game because of Mortal Kombat's bloody violence. Including DC characters is icing on the cake! Total of 22 characters, 2 must be unlocked via playing storymode on both sides, then press R1 in the character select menu (VS mode). Everyone has their own special moves and finishers. VS is the best part. I found it enjoyable to have Subzero freeze Batman, only to shatter him entirely later or have Superman pound Scorpion into the ground (without killing him) with a heroic brutality. With all those great features, more could have been added. If you want something more natural to Mortal Kombat, check out Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) for all the gore and blood as the original games with many more characters. If you want more DC, check out DC Universe Online. It is now free to play and is a Massive Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game.

GREAT GAME FOR TEENAGERS
The Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe is a great game for Teenagers and avid fighting game lovers, although it is lacking violence and gore. The graphics, the camera sound and special effects are amazing, much improved from previous games. The Introduction of DC characters with their special abilities(heroic brutalities) will definitely attract more buyers especially dc comic fans. However in comparison with other game fatalities and mainly because of the teen rating all fatalities are way too washed up and are sort of soft and a bit cartoonish. Overall the game is really well made, and includes two different stories(two sides dc and mk) and is definitely a fun thing to play when you have people over!The Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe is a great game for Teenagers and avid fighting game lovers, although it is lacking violence and gore.
