Item is brand new and as described. Was well packaged too. Only let-down was the UPS service that was later than anticipated and when it arrived the delivery man made no attempt to knock on my door or ring my bell. I was at home all day with my wife and it was just left in our porch in plain view of passers-by. Given the value of the item this could have been very bad if it was stolen.
