Konami's action-oriented flight combat series continues with AirForce Delta Storm, a follow-up to 1999's AirForce Delta on the Dreamcast. The setting is the year 20X1, where two factions battle for control of Earth's dwindling resources. As a pilot for the United Front, players must protect their allies while neutralizing enemies both in the air and on the ground. A total of 50 distinct missions are available, from destroying enemy fleets to cutting off supply routes.<br><br>Players receive cash and statistics after each mission, such as time of completion, number of kills, and ratio of hits using machine guns and missiles. The more downed fighters, the more cash to purchase new planes. Each plane is rated in such areas as speed, power, defense, and mobility, with over 70 aircraft available to purchase. Among the featured planes are the EF2000 Typhoon, MiG-27 Froger J, A-7 Corsair II, Su-27 Flanker, F/A-18C Hornet, and the Harrier II.<br><br>A number of options are available to would-be pilots, including two control configurations (novice and expert), two view types (cockpit or behind the aircraft), and the ability to customize the heads-up display settings. Missions will end if one of the following occurs: the plane's damage meter falls to zero, it crashes into the land or sea, it moves too far away from the target area, or the allotted time to complete an objective is exceeded.

Fantastic early production air combat game!
Well I'm a fanatic of air combat video games, so naturally my opinion will be a little biased for reviewing this title. Keep in mind that this game was made way back in 2001, but the graphics are impressive nonetheless as far as the original XBox system is concerned. You can't help but ask yourself, though, as to how bad-ass this game would have been if the Halo graphics engine was available during the time of development. We'll never know, because XBox games aren't even produced anymore, but the features such as "camera sunspot glare" and the mirage effect produced by the engine exhaust are pretty upscale for the original XBox graphics. Gameplay is pretty sweet, and I keep the controller settings on "Advanced" being as it allows for rudder control for performing tighter air combat ... The bad thing about the Advanced controller setting is that using your right hand to fire a missile and hold full afterburner throttle simultaneously is impossible (X for throttle, B for missiles) unless you have freakish over-sized thumbs. You can probably customize these controls, though. The aircraft in the game are realistic, based on actual fighter planes. They look absolutely stunning during gameplay, and are 100% accurate in detail. I can only imagine how awesome this game would look with XBox 360 graphics. Overall I'd consider this game an oldie, but goodie. Classic XBox air combat game. For the going prices for this game on eBay, you won't be disappointed picking up this classic title and spending a weekend beating it!

This game is by far one of, if not the best flight simulator to come out for the XBOX. I mean this game has everything from realistic cockpits & controls to the ability to fly over 70 different planes not to mention the 50 different missions & 50 different locations! This game makes you feel like you are really flying the planes that most of us only see in books or the movies or the occasional AIRFORCE (one word eBay misspells it thats why only a few listings come up on the search!) air show which if you live in my area you know that those are getting rare since 9/11! So I suggest if you like flight sim games that you are going to absolutly flip for this one it is a MUST HAVE for any gamer!! Fighter jet video games
The main reason i bought this game is the playability of it. This game offers over 70 different planes that you can earn by completing missions. The other reason is this game offers suburb graphics for the time it was made, plus this is a rare game that is hard to find. I decided to buy it because i got a really good deal. Air Force Delta Storm
I love action/military movies, I never had a air force DVD so I bought it & there are others reasons why I did, this is one of the games you can play on a new Xbox 360 so the price is alot less then the new Xbox 360 games. Buying one of these vs. a new Xbox360 game is around $25 to $30.00 which saves me money. There is really nothing that I dislike about it.
